There are plenty of fun and scenic things to do near Red Rocks Amphitheater that round out your visit and make the most of your time in this unique part of Colorado.

From hiking to history to great food, the area blends natural beauty with small-town charm. Here’s a look at what else you can explore before or after your concert, just a short drive away from the main stage.

Hike the Trading Post Trail

If you want to stretch your legs before the music starts, this 1.4-mile loop is a solid choice. The trail winds through dramatic red rock formations and offers great photo spots along the way. It’s not too hard, but it still gives you a good workout and a real feel for the terrain. You’ll pass wildflowers, unique geology, and several quiet rest areas to soak in the views. Morning and late afternoon hikes are best for cooler temps and softer light.

Explore Red Rocks Park Visitor Center

Right above the amphitheater, the Visitor Center is worth a stop. Inside, you’ll find exhibits about the geology, music history, and wildlife of the area. The walls are covered in photos from iconic concerts and legendary artists who’ve played here over the years. There’s also a short film that tells the story of how the amphitheater was built and why it draws musicians from all over the world. It’s free to enter and doesn’t take long to explore.

Check Out Dinosaur Ridge

Just a couple of miles from Red Rocks is one of the best dinosaur track sites in the country. Dinosaur Ridge has real fossilized footprints embedded in the stone along a scenic walking trail. You can either walk the ridge on your own or take a guided tour. The nearby Discovery Center adds more context with hands-on exhibits and fossil displays. It’s a fun, low-cost activity for families or anyone curious about prehistoric Colorado.

Visit Morrison’s Main Street

The small town of Morrison is just minutes from the amphitheater and full of character. Its historic downtown has a mix of cafes, bars, art shops, and places to grab a bite to eat. The relaxed pace makes it a good stop before or after a show. You can sip craft coffee, shop for souvenirs, or enjoy a patio beer while people watching. Parking can fill up fast on concert days, so it’s smart to arrive early and stroll the shops before heading to your event.
